~ Set Of 5 Silver Plate And Silver Shooting Victorian And Edwardian Scottish Highlander Trophies To A Major R W Purvis ~

The silver plated vase is engraved "Match Average Cup 1887 Given By An O.G. Won By Pte R. W. Purvis" and "Glenalmond Highlanders", the underside is stamped ERRS & Co. 6032 1/3.

One silver plated goblet is engraved "500 Yds average cup won by Pte. R. W. Purvis 1887" as well as the crest of the Glenalmond Highlanders. It has a makers stamp to the underside as well as 970.

One silver plated goblet is engraved "Palton Challenge Cup for the best shot in the Corps at 200 & 500 yards won by R. W Purvis 1887" and a Glenalmond crest. It is stamped to the underside with three dots.

One silver plated goblet is engraved "Small Game steeplechase R. W. Purvis 1887", it is not stamped.

The silver chalice goblet is engraved "Militia Rifle Association won by Major R. W. Purvis 3rd Battalion Gordon Highlanders Best Shot Of Unit (Officer) Annual Course 1909". It is hallmarked for London 1911 (must have been a late prize!) and was made by Walker and Hall.

All the pieces are in good order.

~ Dimensions ~

The vase is 17 cm (6.75 inches) tall with a maximum diameter of 12.5 cm (5 inches).

The three goblets are 14-15 cm (5.5 - 6 inches) tall.

The chalice is 10 cm (4 inches) tall.
