Rare WW2 German SS 8 Years Long Service Medal With Ribbon

This superb original piece is die struck in bronze with the correct patinated finish. It is complete with the unique S.S. style beveled suspension ring and teardrop loop.

The reverse of the medal is inscribed in German: 'FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IN DER SS' ("For Loyal Service in the SS").

The medal comes with original shimmering moire blue rayon ribbon.

~ SS 8 Years Long Service Medal ~

This award was was instituted on 21st October 1938 and bestowed after 8 years loyal service in the S.S.

The eight-year service award was finished in bronze and was awarded to all Officers, NCOs and enlisted men. The eight-year service medal was manufactured by the firms Petz & Lorenz and Deschler.

The total length (including ribbon) is 3.5 inches (9cm).

The diameter of the medal is 38 mm.

The length of the loop is 16 mm.

The condition of the medal is excellent for its age with nice patina and crisp detailing.

The ribbon is in very good order with minimal wear.
