This is a very good example of a rare club badge from Portsmouth. the piece is made of brass and enamel and stamped on the reverse with the manufacturers mark CMA of Birmingham.

Portsmouth Aero Club was formed with the help from Portsmouth & Southsea and Isle of Wight Aviation Ltd in 1931 and in September a preliminary meeting of the club was held on the 1st October at the Admirals Head public house in Kingston Crescent. In September the club organised the IOW Handicap Race which was won by Sir Charles Rose flying a De Havilland Moth 60G.

~ Condition~

The badge presents minor scratches but otherwise remains in good condition. Its enamel coating is in pristine condition.

Overall an excellent piece.
