*Pakistani, G3 Rifle Bayonet, for use with Heckler & Koch (H&K) G3 Rifle, with Original Scabbard, Dated 2013*
16cm blade, 30cm overall.
Marked "POF 13" on the ricasso.
The G3 Rifle, developed by Heckler & Koch GmbH (H&K), is a 7.62mm NATO caliber, selective-fire rifle. It evolved from the Spanish CETME assault rifle, itself a refinement of the German Sturmgewehr 45(M). Starting in 1967, Pakistan produced licensed G3A4 rifles at the Pakistan Ordnance Factory in Wah Cantonment.
H&K also designed a G3 bayonet, which was widely adopted as the standard. Its unique hilt design sets it apart, and it has not been replicated, making it a distinctive design. Due to its long production period and global manufacturing, various versions of the G3 bayonet exist.
This Pakistani G3 Bayonet has a clip-point blade resembling the British No. 5 Mk. I, with a 12-groove black plastic grip and a 9 o'clock press catch. The broad plain crosspiece is a casting and the black-coated blade has a rough matte plastic grip. Produced between 2005 and 2013, markings like POF 13 indicate the year, but it's unclear if these were made for military use or commercial sale.
The scabbard for the Pakistan G3 is a shorter, basic imitation of the British No. 5, with a cast body featuring a longitudinal seam on the front and back and a black finish.
