These items are original and unused. There is a tin containing 8 tubes of Anti-Gas No 2 ointment and an individual, protective cover for blister gas. Since the use of gas as a weapon in World War 1, it was anticipated that this would be the case again. Consequently, allied and axis forces felt it necessary to create suitable counter-measures. These included the anti-gas ointments and protective covers. The ointment was to be applied directly to skin that had been affected by mustard gas as it was made from a strong alkaline solution which would neutralise the remaining gas residue. On the reverse of both items, there are sets of instructions for their applications.
*Condition*
These items are in great condition with some very minor damage around the outside of the tin’s lid. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
