This is an original Verner’s pattern mark VIII compass in its original leather case. This compass is dated 1917 and would have been used throughout World War 1. Its basic construction is a prismatic dry card compass with a both a momentary bearing lock and transit lock.  This particular compass has the F-L maker’s mark on the reverse.

*Condition*

This compass is in great condition for its age and usage. The leather pouch has some expected wear to the surface and the top face of the compass is slightly discoloured. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
