This is an original Lee-Metford Bayonet Pattern 1888 Mk2 bayonet. The blade features many marks including the bending mark, Queen Victoria royal cipher and numbers on the pommel that are possible regimental numbers. The back to back ‘RR’ indicates this blade was condemned from frontline service and the back to back crow’s feet indicate that it was sold out of military service.
*Condition*
The bayonet is in good condition for its age and usage. The blade is darkened on one side and the tip is slightly bent. The hilt is strong and undamaged, all markings are clear and the button works as it should. Please see pictures for more detail..
