This is a regimentally marked, German cavalry sabre from the World War 1 period. This type of sabre was used throughout the First World War and this particular weapon was likely also used. This is a pipeback sword which means it features a strong, spine along the back of the blade which travels to the point. Its grip is curved outwards and features a grip for the forefinger. It is stamped Carl Eickhorn, Solingen.

*Condition*

This sabre is in great condition for its age and usage. The blade does possess some small knocks and chips on the sharp edge towards the end and some light even pitting across the metal parts. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
