~Ombra Della Sera Bronze Sculpture~

Ombra della sera (Italian for "Shadow of the evening") is an Etruscan statue from the town of Velathri. It was first depicted in a 1737 collection of Etruscan antiquities. Similarities to the work of modern artist Alberto Giacometti have been frequently observed. The statue represents a nude male with a very elongated body but head in normal proportions. It is estimated by archaeologists to date from the third century BC. This copy is approximately 28cm high and has a faint foundry mark on the back.

*Condition*

The statue is in good condition with some light patina and some marks on the plinth. The statue is loose from the plinth but can be easily reattached. Please see the photos as they form part of our condition report.
