Here we have a wonderful example of a Victorian naval officers sword.

The sword is slightly curved, single edged and singled fullered pattern with elaborate etchings and a brass lion head pommel.

The grip is made of wire-bound shagreen with a lion shaped brass pommel and a brass guard.

It comes with its black leather scabbard with brass fittings and two suspension rings.

The sword bears some nice acid etchings and the name of the officer H. A. J. Howes RN.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade is 31.5 inches (80 cm) long.

The sword is 37 inches (94 cm) long.

The sword weighs 1.18Kg.

~ Condition ~

The sword is in brilliant condition for its age, the blade has a few spots of patina and has had some restoration.

The scabbard is near mint.
