~ Mid 17th Century Carved Oak Angel Wall Hanging ~
A nice carved oak wall panel piece in the form of an angel dating to the mid 1600’s.
The piece would have most likely hung in a church or possibly a grand home.
The piece depicts an angels head and shoulders, with long flowing curly hair and wings crossed over the chest.
It is not a high quality piece but is has been nicely carved with some good detail.
It has a modern suspension loop hanging screwed into the reverse.
~ Dimensions ~
The piece measures 11cm (4 ¼ inches) by 17cm (6 ¾ inches) with a depth of 4cm (1 ½ inches).
It weighs 220g.
~ Condition ~
There is a small piece of the wood missing, split off to the lower right hand corner and there is an extra hole in the reverse where a hook once was but overall the piece is in a good condition for its age.
