Martini Enfield Sword Bayonet

This is an interesting example of a Martini Henry Sword Bayonet.

This example has a straight blade with a fish skin grips. The
scabbard is of black leather with metal endings.

The item comes with a number of markers including `287` on the crosspiece, `S.P 0 G.E` on the taper `4.7 B` on one side of the ricasso and `REEVES Crown over BR` on the other side.

The scabbard is marked with `287 broad arrow over WD 87 Crown
over E 51 and T`.

~ Dimensions ~

The total length is 29 ½ inches (74.5cm) long.

The blade is 22 ¾ inches (57cm) long.

The sword weighs 995g.

~ Condition ~

There are some scratches to the blade but overall the item presents well.

The safety trigger works and the steelwork is dented in places but is free of surface rust.
