~ Late 19th Century Japanese Wooden Lacquered Egg ~

The top half depicts a cockerel with gilt detailing over a deep rouge background with further black and gilt detailing. The lower half has black detailing and a flat bottom so it does not roll when on display.

~ Condition ~

The egg has some chips to its lacquer, the two halves fit together well.

~ Dimensions ~

The egg is 13.5 cm (5.25 inches) long by 9 cm (3.5 inches) wide.
