The Imperial Japanese Army Type 30 Bayonet was manufactured between 1897 and 1945 to accompany the Ariska Type 38 Rifle, named after Colonel Nariaki Nariakira Arisaka. The Type 30 was the primary type of bayonet used on Japanese rifles during World War II. During the 40-year period from 1906 to 1945, Japan produced over 6.4 million rifles and carbines, the majority of which were still in active use during both the Sino-Japanese War of the 1930s and the Pacific War of the 1940s.

On the ricasso of the bayonet, there is an engraving depicting a 'three-leafed flower next to an "M" pierced by an arrow,' signifying its production by National Denki under Kokura supervision. The pommel bears a serial number that looks like two inspection marks followed by 27662, serial numbers were assigned independently to the rifles. The bayonet features a distinctive hooked quillon crosspiece, a contoured wooden grip that wraps around, secured by two retained rivets, and a flat-sided bird's head pommel. Its overall length is 20 inches (51 cm), boasting a 40 cm blade with a rounded spine and an elongated, single fuller on both sides.

The bayonet comes complete with a metal scabbard that features a closed tube-type end.

*Condition*
This bayonet is in good condition overall. The grip displays signs of age-related wear and tear, including a minor crack on one side. The mortise is in good working order. While the blade does show some minor nicks from use, it still retains some of its bluing. The scabbard is also in good condition and fits securely.
