The medal has a sky blue enamel in a cross out from the centre with the central insignia for the fire brigade.
The second line of text on the reverse reads "神奈川県" meaning "Kanagawa-ken" - the name of the prefecture where the medal was awarded.

The medal has some patination which is less noticeable on the obverse. The enamel is complete.
