In 10.6mm scharfe Revolver-Patrone caliber, this revolver was the first standard, cartridge-firing handgun adopted by the German military. It was a service revolvers used by the German Army from 1879 to 1908, when it was superseded by the 9mm Luger although it saw service in World War I. It was a single action, six-shot revolver that had a separate rod for ejecting spent cartridges. Grooved cylinder, loading door on the right. Smooth walnut stock plates.
