HMS Sultan Sir William Staveley Award Bookends

These are two separate but homogenous awards presented to then Vice Admiral Sir William Staveley K.C.B. by H.M.S Sultan in 1981. On the 12^th August 1981, Sir William was presented with two trophies on completion of the 801 Direct Entry M.E.A’s course and the 151 Mechanicians Qualifying Course. In his later career, Sir William would go onto achieving the role of First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff on the 2^nd of August 1985.

*Condition*

Overall, the trophies are in good condition and there are no obvious defects. The Sultan heads are in very good condition. Understandingly, upon closer inspection there are some minor marks on the base of the trophy and slight chipping on one of the castle towers. Please see pictures for more detail.
