People subscribed to 15 monthly instalments and then, if desired, had them bound in a choice of bindings. This one is particularly nice with a half leather binding and gilt title lettering. A wonderfully detailed chronological history of the city from earliest times  to the date of publication. 

A large, heavy book. 734pp with b/w illustration.

It measures approximately 23cm x 28cm.

~ Condition ~

Excellent binding. A few patches of wear to the leather, and a bit of discolouration to the free endpapers. Still very good overall.
