The painting depicts two butterflies; an Ornithoptera Alexandra, also known as the Queen Alexandra's birdwing, the largest butterfly in the world and a Dismorphia Amphione, also known as the Tiger Mimic White.
The painting displays the two butterflies against a plain white background, with the shadows just behind them.
One corner reads "Ornithoptera Alexandra: Dismorphia Amphione" whilst the other corner is signed by the artist "Jan Olof Fellström BA" and dated for 1994.
A charming highly detailed and vibrant work of art.
I have owned it since new.
