*German, WW2, Luftwaffe Bomber Clasp - Gold Class (Gilt & White Metal)*
This metal clasp is finished in gilt, with the central device, a winged bomb, in antique silver. The reverse of the clasp features the correct flat-type pin, also in gilt, but has no maker's markings.
These badges consist of a central device encircled by a wreath of laurel leaves, set between two 'wings' of oak leaves. The central device indicates the type of flight undertaken. The winged bomb denotes the award for crews of Heavy, Medium, and Dive Bombers. The color of the clasp, excluding the center, signifies the number of flights achieved: the BRONZE clasp for 20 flights, the SILVER clasp for 60 flights, and the GOLD clasp for 100 flights.
