*German, WW2, Hitler Jugend Dagger and Scabbard, by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen (Transitional Period)*

13.6cm blade, 24.5cm overall

Small dagger with beaked pommel, Bakelite chequered grip with two smooth dressed rivet heads with diamond shaped enameled swastika on red and white. Marked on the blade with the "Eickhorn squirrel logo, Eickhorn, Solingen, RZM M 7/66" and marked "40" (possibly for 1940) on the raised ricasso. The RZM M7/66 is the correct German war time code for Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. This dagger looks like it fits the profile for the transitional period for these blades 1936-1940, with thicker blades, higher ricasso, no motto on the blade with maker mark and RZM designation.

The dagger comes in its original metal scabbard with leather belt strap. The leather strap is embossed on the back with LFS over an Oak Leaf. The scabbard is magnetic sheet metal with no lip on the throat as it should be.

*Condition*
The blade is in good clean condition with some fading to the engraving. The grip has signs of wear and tear commensurate with its age and service. The enameled diamond is damaged. The scabbard is in very good condition and fits snugly, the belt loop is broken. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
