*German, WW2, Framed Portrait Photograph of NSDAP Political Leader in Uniform, Kreisleitung Level Official, Wearing Party Badge & Awards*

Original period black-and-white studio portrait photograph showing a uniformed National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NSDAP) Political Leader, the subject wearing the regulation brown political leader’s tunic with oak-leaf collar tabs, visor cap with eagle and wreath insignia, and NSDAP armband to the sleeve. The official is shown wearing several decorations including the NSDAP party badge, ribbon bar and additional political / service awards to the breast, indicating a long-serving party member of some seniority.

The photograph remains in its original wooden frame and backing board and has not been removed, the mount and rear panel appearing period. The portrait format, uniform style and insignia are consistent with late-1930s to wartime NSDAP political leader uniforms, most likely representing a Kreisleitung (district level) or similar administrative official rather than military personnel.

Approx. Measurements – Photo: 9 cm × 13.3 cm. Frame: 12.8 cm × 17.8 cm.

Historical Note:
Following the reorganisation of the NSDAP uniform regulations in 1939, Political Leaders (Politische Leiter) wore distinctive brown tunics with rank indicated by oak-leaf collar tabs, piping colours and insignia rather than military rank stars. Officials serving at Ortsgruppe, Kreisleitung and Gau levels often wore visor caps and decorated uniforms similar in style to Wehrmacht officers, reflecting the increasing militarisation of the Party administration during the Third Reich.

The presence of the party badge, ribbon bar and multiple awards suggests the sitter was a long-standing party member, possibly an early supporter who held a district-level administrative or leadership role during the late 1930s or Second World War period. Studio portraits of this type were commonly produced for official use, personal display, or inclusion in party offices.
