~ German, WW1, Third Variant Mauser Model 1914 Pistol - EU Spec Deactivated ~
Serial number “43995”, marked on the receiver and back of the slide and “995” on the trigger guard. Marked on the left side of the slide in upper case sans-serif characters “WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER A.-G. OBERNDORF A.N. MAUSER’S PATENT”. Behind the rear sight is a “crown/crown/U” proof mark. A 7.65 cal. this pistol has wood grips with chequered panels. It has its original blue finish. The left side of the frame has the Mauser cartouche.
Derived from Josef Nickl’s .25 caliber Model 1910, the New Model 1910 (6.35 mm) and the Model 1914 (7.65 mm) were patented in September 1912. This is a World War 1 production Third Variant Mauser Model 1914, these firearms bore serial numbers ranging approximately between 13500 and 290100. With the outbreak of World War I, production escalated rapidly to meet military demands, resulting in over 276,000 units manufactured, making it the most prevalent variant of the Model 1914. Referred to as the Wartime Commercial 1914 by Pender, this variant is distinguished by its one-line slide inscription in all capital sans-serif characters: WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER A.G. OBERNDORFA.N. MAUSER’S PATENT.

The pistol is in very good condition. It has been deactivated to the EU standard so it can't be cocked or dry-fired. Please see the photographs as part of the condition report.
