Cold War era Hungarian AZ58-K100 training grenade. Hungarian AZ58-K100 anti-tank training grenade is a complex design. The live version of this device included a hollow charge, intended to be thrown onto the top of an enemy vehicle. A spring-loaded parachute positioned at the rear ensured the grenade engaged enemy vehicles at the correct angle. As the primary purpose of this trainer was to instruct proper throwing technique, it lacks any explosive charge. The grenade bears markings including ‘GYAK’, short for the Hungarian word gyakorló, meaning ‘training’. Painted silver, the AZ58-K100 trainer differs from its green-painted live counterpart. Both variants were utilized by the Hungarian armed forces.
