*1837 Pattern French Naval Officers Sword and Original Scabbard*
84.5 overall, 70.5cm straight blade with two fullers. Single shell guard pierced with a fouled anchor amid vine and leaf patterns, domed pommel and shell decorated back strap. A dragons' head quillion stands out from the top of the guard. Black horn grip with twisted gilt brass wire. In its original brass and black leather scabbard . The black leather scabbard is complete with heavy cast mounts. The throat features a fouled anchor on both sides and a sea shell “button” for a frog. The throat and middle mount have brass rings. The drag also features sea shells.
*Condition*
This is in excellent condition with some age related wear and tear. The pommel is loose. The Scabbard fits snugly. The middle brass is loose, the leather shows some wear and tear. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
