The 19th century continental porcelain rectangular plaque depicts a peasant woman holding a child looking across an alpine lake. Mountains, sailing boats and a village can be seen in the distance.
The piece is signed "SM" and dated "1883" to the lower right corner.
It is framed within a glazed ebonised frame with gilt slip.

The plaque is in excellent order other than some some glaze crazing.
