This is a gilt bronze Gorget featuring the George III cypher on the front between sprigs of laurel. It is approximately 11cm tall and 3.5cm deep. Gorgets ceased to be worn by British army officers in 1830 and by their French counterparts 20 years later. They were still worn to a limited extent in the Imperial German Army until 1914.
~Condition~
This gorget is in excellent condition for its age and use. It retains its original finish but the inside face is slightly oxidised. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
