~ Early 20th Century British Royal Navy 1827 Pattern Sword By Gieve And Sons Of Portsmouth ~

The proofed blade is etched with the Kings crown & Royal Navy Foulded anchor to one side and the Royal coat of arms to the other.

The ricasso is etched 'J. Gieve and Sons, Portsmouth' to one side and has the proof star to the other.

The spine of the sword is stamped 'London Made'.

The sword is complete with its scabbard.

The later bears a small applied badge that reads "Galt Gieves & Co Outfitters Portsmouth".

~ Condition ~

Please refer to the images for the condition.

The blade has quite a few blackened areas, the edge is free from nicks, the guard folds neatly and the grip is complete.

The scabbard has minor wear to the leather, the stitching is decent.

The sword fits the scabbard sweetly.

~ Dimensions ~

The sword is 94cm (37 inches) in total length with a 79cm (31 inches) blade.
