Eagle Head Bowie Knife with Original Scabbard. Wide clipped point blade, sharpened on one side. Beautifully decorated Eagle Head with red eyes and carved wooden body. Maker marked with a faded lion holding a shield with the initials F.S. followed by the number 9. Original leather scabbard. 24.5cm blade. 37.8cm overall.
The Bowie knife was originally designed in the early 19th century by James Bowie, a famous frontiersman and folk hero of the American West. Bowie knives are designed for heavy-duty use and are known for their durability, strength and versatility.
*Condition*
The blade is in good condition with some pitting and a few tiny nicks to the blade. The grip is in excellent condition. The original leather scabbard is in very good condition with some minor staining. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
