Circa 1850's Enfield Naval Sword Bayonet and scabbard

These unusual pieces were issued to the Royal Navy to be used with the 1858 Pattern muskets and continued to be used with the first snider rifles as well.

The piece comes with its black leather scabbard with black painted metal fittings.

The grip is made of chequered wood.

There are no stamps or marks on the blade or scabbard, as most of these pieces were never marked or stamped.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade is 26 ½ iniches (67 cm) and the overall length of the piece in its scabbard is 32 ½ (83 cm).

It weighs 1.36 kg.

~ Condition ~

The blade is excellent with no signs of use.

The metal parts of the grip developed some surface rust.

The sprigged catch works fine.

The scabbard aged and a small section un-stitched.

Overall is a good piece for its age.
