Here we have a good example of a late pattern British Baker Rifle Bayonet. The baker rifle bayonet was manufactured as a sword bayonet since the light infantry regiments were more likely to get into melee combat.

This sword bayonet was manufactured later on in the life of the Baker rifle, earlier ones having a slightly more rounded and solid guard.

This baker rifle sword bayonet has a brass guard and a steel blade.

The bayonet is unmarked.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade is 23 (58 cm) long.

The bayonet is 28 (71 cm) long.

The bayonet weighs 885g.

~ Condition ~

The bayonet is in a good condition for its age.

There is some very minor pitting to the blade.

There is the remnants of the leather washer around the base of the blade.
