~ Circa 1830 British Export Indian Canadian Board Of Ordnance Stamped Axe ~

The axe head has the letters B O for the board of ordnance as well as the broad arrow and was made in Sheffield for export to Canada. The shaft is nicely carved with a snake like swirl around the upper section.

~ Condition ~

The axe is in great condition, the blade has some pitting with a nick to its edge. The wood of the shaft is strong and free from worm damage.

~ Dimensions ~

The axe is 62cm (24.5 inches) in length, the axe head is 17.5 cm (7 inches) across with a 7.5 cm (3 inches) blade.
