~ Circa 1820 Benjamin Franklin Porcelain Child's Cup ~

The transfer print is a good rich chocolate colour. The porcelain bright white.

The transfer reads:

"Dr Franklin's Maxims

Industry needs not wish

He that lives upon hope will die fasting

There are no gains, without pains

Then help hands for I have no lands".

These are a couple of the 78 maxims from Benjamin Franklin's Way to Wealth.

~ Dimensions ~

The cup is 2 1/4 inches (7 cm) tall and 3 3/4 inches (9.6 cm) wide including the handle. The diameter is 2 5/8 inches (6.5 cm). It weighs 127 grams.

~ Condition ~

The print is slightly faded and there are two cracks, one at the top and one at the bottom of the handle,where it was been refixed, otherwise the cup is in good condition.
