~ Circa 1800 Chinese Double Jian Short Swords With Scabbard ~

The Jian is a Chinese double edged, straight short sword and has been in existence for over 2,500 years.

This set is comprised of twin Jian swords fitted back to back within a single scabbard.

The swords have brass etched mounts and pommels with a ridged ebony grip.

The scabbard is of lacquered bamboo with similar brass mounts and a suspension chain.

~ Condition ~

The set is in very good, tidy order. The scabbard has a few areas of loss of the lacquer.

~ Dimensions ~

Each sword is 57 cm (22.5 inches) in length with a 43 cm (17 inches) blade.
