This is an 18th century sword hanger that would have clipped on to an existing belt and the chain would thread through the scabbard rings.

The chain has two hinged clips with springs to keep them shut.

~ Dimensions ~

The sword hanger is approximately 15.5 inches (40.5 cm) long from clip to clip and 2.7 inches (7 cm) tall. The chain is approximately 1 cm wide.

The sword hanger weighs 60 grams.

~ Condition ~

The sword hanger is in good condition with a healthy patina.
