~ Circa 1500 Italian Glaive Blade ~

This stout piece is engraved to one side with a crowned lion (rampant) with crossed hatched edging on both sides below the reverse spike and a 'T' shaped armourers stamp. On the blades shaft is a brass pin, presumably for flying a pendant.

The original ring is present which would slide over the langets.

It comes with a stand.

~ Dimensions ~

The blade is 34 inches (87cm) in length including the replacement langets. The actual head 26 inches (66cm) long.

With the shaft and stand, the total length is 55 inches (1.4m).

~ Condition ~

The blade is in excellent order. There is virtually no pitting, the edges are free from nicks. The engravings remain clear.

Only the blade head is original, both the langets (which are welded on) and pole are modern.
