~ Cased Victorian Civilian Pith Helmet And Cover By Thomas Townend Of London ~

The inside of the helmet is lined with the makers named (established 1778) in gilt on red silk. Under the rim is lined in green silk. The helmet cover is a khaki in colour, it is fitted with a brown leather strap. The cover is in green with a draw string.

The black painted tin is initialled HHC.

~ Condition ~

The helmet and cover are in great order with no moth damage. The tin has some surface rust.

~ Dimensions ~

The helmet is 36 cm (14.5 inches) long and 26 cm (10.25 inches) wide.
