~ A c1935 Moritz-Gottschalk - Marienburg-Sachsen, Germany, circa 1935 -

The Flieger Staffel (Airfield HQ) comprises of a number of items :-

- A large airfield type bunker/hanger with Sliding Hanger Doors and small bunker for personnel. The bunker is constructed from wood & cardboard and is covered with sculpted composite material & painted in a green/brown scheme, modelled on examples from WWI.

- The Position houses an Elastolin Scheinwerfer auf Grossem Sockelg model 0/728 (Searchlight with large base), which is electrically operated through wiring to the battery, with ridged glass lens (the bulb is present) and traversing & elevating gear mounted on a pedestal mount.

- A Tipp & Co - Sportflieger - Eindecker (Single Wing Trainer Aircraft), produced from 1936 to 42 and loosely based on the ME. This plane has the original tin printed pre-war markings, metal retractable wheels, traversing tail wheel made from rudder, operable clockwork motor and is finished in Luftwaffe green with black detailing.

- Both a searchlight operator with binoculars, produced by Lineol, and a Luftwaffe pilot, produced by Durso.

~ Dimensions ~

The hanger has a width of 23.3 inches (59cm), a depth of 11 inches (28cm) and a height of 6.5 inches (16.5cm).

The spotlight has a height of 5.5 inches (14cm) and a diameter of 2.5 inches (6.25cm).

The plane has a length of 11 inches (28cm), a wing span of 10.5 inches (26.25cm) and a height of 3.5 inches (9cm).

~ Condition ~

The set has some minor wear, including some paint loss and age wear, but is in good overall condition.
