~ c1905 Framed Chromolithographic Print of The Battle of Trafalgar After W.L. Wyllie ~
A large framed chromolithographic print of an original painting by William Lionel Wyllie, produced 1905.
The painting, known as ‘Trafalgar, 2.30 pm’ or ‘Trafalgar 21 October 1805’ is one of the definitive paintings of the battle of Trafalgar.
The original is an oil on canvas measuring 9 x 5 feet and hangs in, Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, England.
The picture shows HMS Victory at the very centre of the action during the Battle of Trafalgar, surrounded by many other ships and a wrecked ship in the foreground.
The names of the ships are all printed along the bottom edge of the print.
Also along the bottom edge reads: Printed & Etched by WL Wyllie, Issued Aug 1st 1905 by The Art Union of London , J. Goulding, Printer.
The picture is presented in a heavy gilt wood frame of similar age to the print.

The print measures 43cm (17 inches) by 75cm (29 ½ inches).
The frame measures 76.5cm (30 inches) by 107cm (42 inches).
It weighs 23.6 Kg
~ Condition ~
There are a few light water stains to the edges of the image and a small crease in the print, though these issues do not distract from the image.
The print has a little wave to the centre (it does not lie flat).
The frame has some chips and wear but is in fairly good order overall.
