This is a gunner’s powder flask made from bull horn dating to c1800. It has a wooden cap at the thicker end with a wooden screw which screws out.

At the thinner end there is a wooden plug which pulls out. It has a rope for carrying with tassels at either end.

~ Dimensions ~

The flask measures approx 12.5 inches (32cm) long.

At its widest the horns measure 3.5 inches (9cm) wide.

The flask weighs 465g.

~ Condition ~

The flask is in good condition for its age with some minor cosmetic scuffs and some chipping to the wood to be expected from the age and manufacture.
