C 1870 Armstrong Bronze Signal Cannon

Here we have a delightful piece of equipment, a signal cannon manufactured in Germany in the mid to late 19th century.

The cannon is manufactured to the Armstrong pattern and bears the proof mark of the Obendorf proof house with a single crown.

The cannon is cast of bronze and has a functional touch hole.

The cannon comes with a replacement but well made carriage which is not a brilliant fit.

The cannon is in good condition for its age, it has casting marks but is well finished and has a clear proof mark.
