*British, WW2, NFS (National Fire Service) Mark II Helmet, Size 7, Dated 1939, Made by ROCO, Liner made by J.C.S & W Ltd*
Steel Brodie Helmet with NFS emblem to the front. Dated 1939 under the rim and ROCO makers mark for Rubery, Owen & Company Ltd of Leeds. Retaining Liner.
1938 saw the WWI MkI modified to a more oval shape and improved chinstrap and liner, the MkII was born. This pattern of helmet was issued to members of the NFS throughout the Second World War. It is the same pattern as was issued to the British Army and is a standard MKII shell made by 'RO & Co'(Rubery, Owen & Company, Ltd, of Leeds) in 1939 - they made helmets 1939 - 1943 ( Spelled as RO.CO or RO & CO). The helmet is finished in the chocolate brown colour often found on helmets made during 1939. The exterior retains a reasonable amount of its paint finish and the interior is very good. The front of the helmet retains the original NFS decal complete with King's crown. To the underside of the rim the original markings are still present and legible. Liner, size 7, made by "J.C.S & W Ltd, I, 1939" (J. Crompton Sons & Webb Ltd. London who made liners 1938-1943.)

This WW2 helmet is in good condition given its age and service. Chin strap is missing. Please see photographs as part of the condition report.
