This is an original air raid warden's bell. The ARP (Air Raid Precautions) were responsible for ringing the bell to inform people of an air raid. An ARP Warden's main task was to try and protect these people during air raids, when enemy planes dropped bombs. They would also hand out gas masks and guide people to shelters.
~Condition~
This bell is in great condition with very light surface pitting. The wooden handle has some light wear and marks. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
