The P-1885 MKIV Long Lever Martini Infantry Rifle was initially issued with an 18" bladed Sword Bayonet with a fullered blade and leaf spring on the locking mechanism. This was the P-1887 Mk. 1. However, in 1888 the P-1887 Mk. 3 was approved with an unfullered blade and a coil spring on the locking mechanism.

1889 dated British Wilkinson bayonet and scabbard. Wilkinson Sword Company below Victorian cipher boer. Manufacture date 89, War Department, Broad arrow marked, wood checkered, grip SN/7283. The accompanying scabbard has a 7317 serial number.

*Condition*

Both Bayonet and scabbard are in good condition. The blade is nicely preserved. Minor pitting on the grip. The scabbard also has some light pitting.  Please refer to the images as a part of our condition report.
