This example with green painted finish to the shell and "W" to the front and back. Retaining original 1939 dated lining with round cushion to the crown. Complete with chinstrap. The liner is marked: Size 7, JCS&W Ltd, 1939. JCS&W = J. Crompton Sons & Webb Ltd. London, who made helmet liners from 1938 - 1943. This helmet was produced in the UK but supplied to Ireland under contract from surplus British Army stock. This is one of the Irish helmets painted in this colour of green. It is particularly rare as only around 15,000 were produced.
