This is an original cap with a gilt Coldstream Guards cap badge. The badge reads “HONI . SOIT . QUI . MAL . Y . PENSE”. This translates as "Shame on him who thinks ill of it".
The peaked cap is made from black wool/polyester, it has a white cap band, piping in white, silver Coldstream buttons and a brass edging on the visor.
The interior of the cap is lined with a brown fabric head band.
There is a label inside the cap showing the size of the cap is 57 cm.
