This is a naval cutlass bayonet designed to fit the Enfield 1858 pattern rifle which was a .577 calibre rifle, used by the British Army. It has an un-fullered blade length of 680mm with 1 edge and the grips are made from diced leather. When attached to a rifle, it would give a distance of roughly 2.25m (7ft) between the soldier wielding it and the end of the bayonet.

*Condition*

The blade is uniformly darkened with some mild pitting. Some loss of paint on the hand guard and some marks on grips – button works as it should. No damage and overall a very nice item. Please see pictures for more detail as they form part of our condition report.
