This is an 1845 naval cutlass with a flat blade of 29 inches. It features an all iron hilt with a ribbed grip. The blade is solid and straight and would make for an excellent collector’s piece. This is an original 1845 pattern cutlass and not a converted 1888 version (like many of them were). Instead, this blade is the original 29inches in length. Whereas, the 1888 versions were shortened to around 26 inches.

*Condition*

This cutlass is in good condition light pitting all over and a dark patina. There is a small hole drilled near tip, probably for hanging purposes. An excellent example of the 1845 pattern cutlass.
