The case has a lovely scrolled finish and blank plate. Inside is a sprung compartment for storing gold sovereigns. It is hallmarked for Sterling silver, Birmingham and 1899. There is also a makers mark for 'J W', possibly for Josiah Wedgewood & Sons.
