~ Bell Bowie Target Throwing Knife ~
The Bell Bowie Target Throwing Knife was produced in the mid-20th century by the Bell Knife Company, based in Los Angeles, California. Bell specialised in manufacturing rugged knives and throwing weapons aimed at the U.S. sporting and recreational market.
The “Bowie Target” model was one of their most distinctive designs, featuring the classic Bowie-style clip-point blade combined with the balance and durability required for throwing practice. Made from solid, heavy-gauge carbon steel with a blackened or blued finish, the knives were marketed toward hunters, outdoorsmen, and knife-throwing enthusiasts during the 1950s–1970s.
Unlike decorative Bowie knives, Bell’s knives were utilitarian and built for use, often showing heavy wear from target practice. They are now considered collectible examples of postwar American sporting knives, especially as the company eventually ceased production, leaving relatively few surviving examples in good condition.
Our example comes in a brown leather scabbard. Please see the pictures for condition report
